Overview

 

TouchFlower 3.0 is a unique touch-sensitive synthesizer module designed for dynamic waveform control, FM vibrato, and real-time chord generation. With an intuitive interface and multi-mode selection, it allows users to shape complex harmonic structures, experiment with waveform combinations, and explore new sonic territories. Its touch pads enable expressive performance, generating chord tones that are randomized across multiple octaves for organic, evolving soundscapes.

 

Core Functionality

 

Waveform Menu

 

The default mode starts in the waveform selection menu, where users can cycle through different waveforms and activate FM vibrato:

• Long press the left button → Release to switch between waveforms.

• Short press the left button → Toggle FM vibrato on/off.

 

Available waveforms:

1. Square wave

2. Sine wave

3. Sawtooth wave

4. Sine wave with FM noise

5. Noise

6. Mixed waveform combinations

7. Square wave-based operator combinations (Waterpiano Sound)

8. Sawtooth wave-based operator combinations (Waterpiano Sound)

 

Chord Menu

• Long press the right button → Release to toggle through menus.

• Short press the left button → Adjust parameters within the Chord and Root Note Menus.

• Available chord types:

• 3 Major Triads

• 3 Minor Triads

• 7 Major 7th Chords

• 7 Minor 7th Chords

• 7 (flashing) Gen7 Chords

 

Root Note Menu

• Defines the root note key number.

• LED indicator lights up to represent sharp (#) semitones.

 

Touch Pads & Note Randomization

• The four touch-sensitive pads correspond to the Root, 3rd, 5th, and 7th of the selected chord.

• These values are randomized within three octaves and a perfect fifth, allowing for fluid and evolving harmonic textures.

• Changes made in the Root Note and Chord Menus only take effect after switching modes.

Power & Connectivity

• Power Supply:

• Uses Eurorack power connectors for optimal performance.

• USB power is not recommended, as it may cause audio interference.

• Standalone Mode:

• When powered via the main power connector, the module operates as an independent synthesizer, with sound output limited to the left output port.
