SUS Geophone Contact Microphone | 28Hz High-Sensitivity Version 14Hz Classic Version
Geophone Contact Microphone | 28Hz High-Sensitivity Version vs 14Hz Classic Version
To meet the different needs of field recordists and sound designers, we now offer two tuned versions of our Geophone Contact Microphone.
[1] 28Hz High-Sensitivity Version
A redesigned geophone that breaks beyond the frequency limitations of conventional models. By raising the resonance frequency to 28Hz, the effective frequency response extends up to 3500Hz while achieving approximately 2.2× higher sensitivity than a standard 14Hz geophone.
Sound Character
- Significantly more mid and high-frequency detail compared to traditional 14Hz models.
- Less high-frequency roll-off.
- Delivers strong recording levels without requiring excessive gain.
Recommended For
- Capturing material textures and surface details.
- Recording subtle vibrations and delicate resonances.
- Sound design and post-production requiring a wider frequency spectrum.
[2] 14Hz Classic Version
The traditional industry-standard geophone specification, familiar to many field recordists and researchers.
Specifications
- Sensitivity: 80V/m/s
- Frequency Response: 10–1200Hz
- Impedance: 3500Ω
Recommended For
- Pure low-frequency and subsonic recording.
- Seismic and earthquake-like sound effects.
- Heavy machinery, industrial rumble, and deep structural vibrations.
Shared Features
- Omnidirectional sensing element
- Mogami professional audio cable
- Rugged enclosure designed for demanding outdoor use
